Intro
I recently had the opportunity to participate in the SANS Holiday Hack Challenge for the first time, and I must say it was an absolute blast. For those who are unfamiliar with the challenge, it is an online holiday-themed cybersecurity competition that is open to participants of all skill levels. The challenge involves solving a series of puzzles and challenges that are based on realistic cybersecurity scenarios, with a focus on skills and knowledge that are relevant to the field of cybersecurity. By participating in the challenge, participants can test their skills, learn new things, and have a lot of fun in the process.
This year, the challenge centered around helping Santa find the Five Christmas Rings that were lost. Each ring belongs to a certain category and has multiple tasks associated with it. It was a great opportunity to put my cybersecurity skills to the test and learn even more about the field.
